The AW5000 is a solar field watch that Citizen still sells on its own EU store for 149 euros. The J810 Eco-Drive movement is rated at 15 seconds a month and holds 240 days of charge, so it keeps running in a drawer and never needs a battery. Big Arabic numerals in the style of 1940s pilot watches read at a glance, and the screw back case is rated to 100 metres. It wears large and thick, but it asks almost nothing of its owner.
A field watch that runs on light and keeps time to seconds a month.

What owners say
WatchUSeek owners describe a readable, steel pilot style field watch with lume on the hands and the 12, 3, 6 and 9 pips, and several sold theirs because it wore thicker than they wanted. Buyers on Citizen's EU store report accuracy within seconds over months and a tough but stiff strap; US members note that stock there has dried up.

Some figures could not be verified: Price, stock and core specs are from Citizen's EU store. Thickness is 13 mm officially but 12 to 12.5 mm in a US dealer listing and an owner post; lug to lug (50 mm) is from that dealer only. Discontinued in the US, so no official USD price. No dedicated written professional review exists; reviews are a video, a reviewer post on WatchCrunch, and Worn & Wound on the same J810 calibre. No Reddit thread reachable.
