G-Shock 5600 Tough Solar Multi Band 6
GW-M5610U-1ER
$165
Everyday, active, water, travel, adventure
This is the square G-Shock with the two upgrades that matter: solar charging and radio time sync across six transmitters. It never needs a battery or a time correction, survives 200 metres of water and real knocks, and adds world time for travel. The 2021 module 3495 brought a brighter LED light and power saving at the same price. Against the basic DW5600 it costs a little more and removes every chore, which is why owners call it the default beater.
It sets itself by radio and charges from any light.

What owners say
Forum owners mostly say the step up from the DW5600 is worth it for solar and atomic sync, and report nightly sync working first try in Europe and the US. Common complaints are the quiet alarm, a stiff strap, a short afterglow on the light and a slightly grey looking display at angles.
